About Me

Gianni Aliotti, a 22 year veteran of the Animation, VFX, and Games industries, is currently a Visual Effects Supervisor at Goodbye Kansas in Stockholm, Sweden. Gianni was previously associated with Lucasfilm Animation, where he was working on the new animated series Star Wars : The Bad Batch. Prior to that he Supervised Lighting/FX for Season 7 of The Clone Wars.  Some other highlights for Gianni include Game of Thrones (season 5) as well as The Walk by Robert Zemeckis.

Prior to joining Lucasfilm, Gianni spent some time re-learning the many nuances that come with making real-time lighting and compositing. He spent some time with mobile game company Zynga and on two AAA video game titles: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Sledgehammer Games) and Battlefield: Hardline (EA-Visceral Games). Both games earned high marks from the gaming press.

Working for ILM with J.J. Abrams on "Star Trek" was a real highlight for Gianni but some others consisted of: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Steven Spielberg's A.I and a recent stint as Compositing Lead for the VFX team with DDMG Florida on projects ranging from Rock of Ages to several pieces for the New York Mets.  This was Gianni's second run with Digital Domain as he also composited on Stealth by Rob Cohen in 2005 in their Venice based studio.  A large portion of Gianni's career has been spent in animation at companies such as DreamWorks Animation, PDI/DreamWorks, and now Lucasfilm Animation.  Some of these projects included: Lead Lighting work on Puss in BootsHow to Train Your Dragon, Monsters vs Aliens, and Madagascar2 as Compositing Lead on Megamind.  Some of his other projects with DreamWorks Animation included: Shrek the Third, Over the Hedge, and Bee Movie among others.

Gianni studied Computer Arts and Illustration at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. His first production job came with PDI/DreamWorks in 2000 where he worked on several live-action visual effects projects such as the Mexican and A.I. Artificial Intelligence before segueing to work on animated films.
