Working in Stockholm

After almost a year (about 10 months) working in Stockholm, I thought I would reflect a bit on this year in photos. We’ve had a few great work parties, Halloween, Fusbol at ILP in Gamla Stan, and many nights of Snirre Snarre with work friends. Snirre Snarre is a GBK vernacular for (usually) Wednesday night after work drinks. The year has flown by and I can’t show anything having to do with actual projects so this will have to suffice. 🤣 Cheers.

Sweden 2022!

It’s been a long while since I posted anything on here, but I felt this one was better late than never. We’ve moved to Sweden, Stockholm to be precise. This is really a move back to Sweden for anyone who knows me well and I’m super excited to be back here again. Here are some pictures from the first Summer back. And from this point moving forward, I plan to update this blog with more frequency - that’s not saying much I realize, but it’s a start.

Tokyo!

I recently took a trip to Asia for work.  Because we were so close (in Taipei for 2 weeks) we decided as a group to take a free weekend and fly to Tokyo for 2 days.  I've always wanted to visit Tokyo so this was really a dream come true for me.  I took a few hundred pictures while on the trip including some street shooting.  These are some of my favorites shots from the 2 days spent there.  Tokyo is one of those places where you pretty much just point your camera and there's something worth taking a shot of.  Such an awesome city!

SOLO

I had pretty low expectations heading into this screening but regardless I have to say that I really really enjoyed it. I frankly don’t understand most of the criticisms that have been given by the vocal majority. I think people are either A. Disappointed that Harrison Ford can’t go back in time and play himself 35 years earlier or B. That the creatives got too “preachy” about droids’ rights.  Really?  Why is this an issue?  Don’t we all want equal rights for ALL people?  I can’t understand where certain people are coming from on this one.  Sorry.

Me and my bro.  I thought these guys looked pretty badass by the way.  Loved the mag-boots.

SWTLJ

One of my kids’ favorite perks of my job is getting to see Star Wars movies before any of their friends. This was taken at the Metreon theater in San Francisco, CA.

Disneyland 2016

We decided to take a sort of impromptu visit to Disneyland last weekend to celebrate our Disney Silver Pass status.  It was a lot of fun since it had been about 8 years since we last visited the park.  Not THAT much had changed, except maybe us.  ;)

We {Still} Do

On a chilly night in Half Moon Bay and after 15 and a half years, we renewed our wedding vows.   I think the pictures speak for themselves, well almost.  ;)  Since we wanted to keep the event intimate and special, it meant we had to shoot it ourselves. So as it turned out, all of the shots were taken via a tripod that was hauled down the EXTREMELY sketchy "stairs" that can be seen in the 2nd shot of the series.  After the ceremony, we capped off the night with an amazing dinner at Pasta Moon and a stay at the Cypress Inn.

Release of Mets Heads Up Display

I'm happy to announce that the project which I've been working on for some time now, is finally live and online. It can be found on my Showreel page, here: https://vimeo.com/44039267. Our team did a great job delivering this spot with very few resources available to us. Let me know what you think. Hope you like it.

Boating in Stuart

Took a nice boat trip along the intracoastal with some good friends.  As you can tell from these smiling faces, a fun time was had by all.  Florida is really meant to be seen from the water.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

Stopping for a rest while visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium - first visit for me in 15 years...

I realized that it had been 15 years since I had visited the Aquarium in Monterey (my home town).  It hasn’t changed all that much, which is a nice thing I have to admit.  It’s always fun to take the kiddos there as you can see by their faces.  Took some neat photos as well.  I loved the jellyfish!

Family Photo

Not much to say really, except that we finally put the whole family in one spot at the same time and were able to take a few snapshots.  So, there you have it.

Playa Del Carmen

This was taken one night before dinner on the Sandos Beach.  So beautiful there.

We just returned from our family trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico last night at 3:00 AM after a long day of travel.  The trip was a lot of fun and it was great seeing the kids really enjoying themselves as well.

Great Coldplay performance the other night.

Okay, I know it’s been a few years since we were hitting up a LOT of concerts (like we used to do back in the day), but I still think that this was the best one that I’ve been to to date.  I was impressed by how well they sounded - so much like they do in the studio.  That really is the sign of a great band.  I thought it was cool that they came half way into the audience and sang at the foot of the lawn (this was at Shoreline in Mountain View).  Thanks for the b-day present Anna.  Here’s some pretty cool footage from the night.  The crowd was really into it.

Glad Påsk

We celebrated easter a bit early at the kids’ Swedish school and this is one of the images that came out of it.  It’s late and I’m tired so this is all I’m going to say for now.  Just updated the site and it’s nearly 2:00.  Gotta hit the hay.
